My name is Teresa Diaz and I am so excited to be back for another school year here at Windham Center School!
As a Family-School Liaison, I work cooperatively with students, adult family members, school staff and community partners to remove barriers that prevent students from learning. Liaisons function as intermediaries and advocates, providing students with proactive preventative services which promote success; socially, behaviorally, and academically, through deliberate and effective targeted family interactions. I assist with planning, organizing and implementing family events in our school, and sometimes out in the community. I also identify resources and services from the community to strengthen school programs, and provide information and ideas to families about how to help students at home with home curriculum-related activities.
This is my sixth year as a Family Liaison and I want to share with you some the great things that have happened over the past few years. Parents and other family members have participated in numerous events, committees, classes and specialized trainings. Many have even gone on to find work within the school system, and others have empowered fellow parents to do the same.
Below are some pictures of our families, and the events they took part in.
